The Nixon Theatre
will be transformed into a bookstore. Books
and educational products selected for our book fair are hand picked for our
school with a great selection of paperbacks, new release hardcovers, and more!
A book for your child: As
the students preview the Book Fair, they will have a chance to make a list of
books they are most excited about.
Here’s a perfect opportunity to encourage their love of books!
A book for the classroom:
Each teacher will have a wish list so that you can easily purchase the
perfect book for your child’s classroom.
A book for all occasions:
What better gift than a book? You
can take care of your holiday and birthday shopping. All at the Nixon Book Fair.
The bookstore will
also be open on Wednesday evening from 5:30 – 7:30 pm.
RISE is an after school program held in East Palo Alto for Nixon students. It was founded 4 years ago and is run by Nixon educators, Sheryl Humble and Karen Hoopes.
RISE is celebrating this special day —
on Saturday, October 20th
from 10am – 1pm
at Nixon school.
There will be activities, bounce houses and other inflatables, music, games, food, a lemonade stand, and a raffle with fun prizes.
The event is free but please plan on bringing money if you’d like to purchase food, lemonade, or raffle tickets. Raffle and lemonade stand proceeds will be used to purchase ChromeBooks for kids to use at RISE.
The first 75 children to register to come to the party will be guaranteed a special RISE goody bag so RSVP now. Sign up here.
Questions can be directed to Sheryl Humble. Please note, this is not a “drop off event”, an adult must be on campus with your child(ren). Thank you.
