Nixon is currently closed

Under the guidance of the Santa Clara Public Health Department and Santa Clara County Office of Education, public schools in Santa Clara County are closed. All of our school offices and district offices will be closed to the public beginning Tuesday, March 17. For communication with school and district employees, please email specific staff directly. Contact information can be found on the Palo Alto Unified School District website, pausd.org, or your child’s specific school website, https://www.pausd.org/schools. PAUSD employees have been asked to work remotely during this time. Teachers will be supporting flexible learning options (FLOs) for students and will be working off campus to meet student academic needs as much as possible during this unprecedented time. District leadership is working to develop specific guidelines for staff and will be implementing plans as conditions change. Please see the PAUSD School Closure Resources for resources and updated information.  On this page you will find information pertaining to:

  • School and District Operations
  • Meals for students
  • Staff expectations
  • Elementary and Secondary educational resources

This website will be updated regularly during the school closure.

Goodwill donation drive Saturday 10/19

Nixon’s 5th grade class has teamed up with Goodwill to raise funds for 5th grade promotion events. Bring your donations to Nixon on Saturday, 10/19 from 9 AM to 3 PM, and help us fill the truck!

Goodwill accepts gently used clothing, shoes, accessories, small household items, toys, games, puzzles, books, movies and music, E waste, small electronics at their drives. All items should be under 50 pounds.

Donated goods are sold in area Goodwill stores and online with more than 91% of revenue earned going back into the mission to provide job training and other great programs for people and families in our community.

You get to give items a “second life” and keep them out of landfills – it’s a win-win! So, clean out your basements, organize your garages, and straighten your closets. It’s time to bring your treasures to the donation drive. The more you bring the more good you do!
