I hope you have heard about PAUSD’s exciting new partnership with the Palo Alto City Library.
This year PAUSD will be piloting the new Student Assets Card, which will allow your students’ ID to be used as a Palo Alto City Library Card. Your student will have access to all of the amazing databases, resources, and books offered through the city library while at school or home.
There several links to homework help, language learning, reading and science databases all specifically for K-5 elementary students such as:
Brainfuse: Online homework and study tools such as flashcard maker and writing lab
Biography In Context: More than 650,000 biographical entries from all time periods and areas of study
California Missions: eBook collection
Mango Languages: Includes 70 languages, for ages 6 and up
Bookflix: Read and watch storybooks paired with related non-fiction
Tumblebook Library: Animated picture books with reading comprehension quizzes/educational games
Science in Context: Explore science topics, science fair project ideas and science news.
Your child’s assets card will be going home with Monday’s homework:
- 4th and 5th graders have already registered their cards.
- K-3 grade students will need to register their accounts at home.
Please note that books checked out at Nixon will still need to be returned to Nixon and those checked out at PACL will need to be returned to your local branches.
