The PTA executive board is sponsoring two budget information sessions to discuss how pending California budget cuts may affect Nixon school. Please RSVP to attend either a breakfast at Ruth Ann Daines’ home on Thursday, January 26th from 8:15-9:30 am, or a coffee and dessert night at Shali Miklos’ home on Tuesday, January 31st at 7:30 pm. Principal Mary Pat O’Connell will address upcoming budget issues at Nixon for the rest of this year and subsequent years. RSVP to confirm your attendance.
Nixon’s annual Martin Luther King assembly has broadened its focus in recent years to celebrate peace and love, and to recognize the many freedom heroes of the world.
Martin Luther King’s influence has spread across the world and Nixon will celebrate this on Friday, January 27 from 8:30-10:00 in the theater with our Freedom Heroes Assembly.

Upcoming parent study group at Escondido on building our children’s developmental assets with Linda Silvius of Project Cornerstone. First session starts February 2nd, 7-8:30pm. The six-session series will provide parent conversations about how we, as parents, can help ensure that our children thrive. The other dates are February 9, February 23, March 1, March 8, and March 15th. Each session is independent of each other so attend any session you are free.
