Palo Alto Art for Youth’s (PAArtY!) CALL FOR CREATIVITY – It’s not too early to start working on pieces for the Nixon Art Show. This year’s theme is: ”My Message to the World”. Because we believe everyone is an artist there will be no judging of entries, all work will be shown. The deadline is February 8th. Click here for more details and the entry form. Categories are:
- Visual Art & Photography – entries up to 36″ x 36″;
- Literature – not to exceed 2000 words; and
- NEW this year: Sculpture – 3D pieces of any size.
The objective of this program is:
- To encourage youth to share their original creations with their community
- To enjoy the creative process, unburdened by the spirit of competition
- To feel free to create with a minimum of rules and regulations

PAUSD Spectra Art (K – 5)
Spectra Art is our District-funded elementary art program. It provides students with sequential, standards-based art instruction over the entire school year. Students work with a wide range of media and processes. Spectra is an art-centered curriculum with a focus on developing skills and encouraging self-expression. Artist-teachers rotate among the classrooms of new teachers (first, second, and third years in PAUSD) providing weekly or bi-weekly lessons.
